About the challenge
One person. One week. One idea that matters.
Stanford & Ivy X Andover & Exeter Hackathon is a one-week virtual hackathon run by students from Stanford and across the Ivy League. Build anything. A product, a tool, an app, a solution. Get judged by the people at the most elite institutions in the world. Open to all high school students, anywhere. No team required.
Get started
Pick an idea. Build it. That's it.
Use whatever tools you want. Code, no-code, AI, design, writing, research. There are no restrictions on what you build or how you build it. The only requirement is that it adds real value to the world in some way. A working app, a research tool, a resource, a product. If it helps someone, it counts.
Submit your project by the end of the week and let your work speak for itself.
Requirements
What to Build
Anything that adds real value to the world. A web app, a research tool, a browser extension, an AI wrapper, a no-code product, a resource, a database. If someone's life is meaningfully better because it exists, it qualifies. Think about a problem you've actually encountered, something frustrating, inefficient, or missing entirely, and build the solution. The scope doesn't matter. The impact does.
What to Submit
- A demo video, one minute maximum. Show what you built, what it does, and why it matters. No slides, no fluff, just a high-quality voiceover with the product. The best submissions may be featured and shared with our network of Stanford and Ivy League mentors.
- Attach a high-quality headshot of yourself to be featured on the website if you win. Keep it professional. Think LinkedIn Profile Photo.

Judging Criteria
-
Impact
Does this make someone's life meaningfully better? The best projects solve a real problem for a real person. We're looking for ideas that matter, not ideas that impress. -
Creativity
Did you see something others missed? We're not looking for the most obvious solution. We're looking for the most interesting one. Original thinking is rewarded here. -
Execution
Did you actually build it? A working product beats a perfect concept every time. It doesn't need to be polished. It needs to be real. -
Clarity
Does your demo video communicate what you built and why it matters in under a minute? If someone watches your submission and immediately gets it, you've done your job.
